Team Bacon Warriors win Tt eSports Challenge 2

North American all-star team The Bacon Warriors battled their way to second consecutive tournament victory.

Tt eSports Challenge 2 was a month long tournament featuring a $3000 prize pool, restricted to North American teams only. As Trademark eSports was participating in Dreamhack Winter 2011 as well as NASL Season 2 finals, the "Baconators" were firm favorites amongst a plethora of lesser known and competitively inexperienced teams to take this trophy home and they lived up the expectations.

We sat down with Steven 'Korok' Ashworth for a quick chat about the team and their plans for the future.

Team Bacon Warriors was born from the ashes of compLexity and Team EZ. How did the team come to be and what was the creation process like?

Team Bacon Warriors was created after compLexity died. I'm good friends with PAINTITGOLD and he asked me if I wanted to make a team to play in tournaments with. He had Tarano with him and I agreed. I had kept close contact with Bdiz even though he quit Team EZ in October. Bdiz's only friends on that team were me and Testie. He's Testie's boyfriend so they got together and joined us.

This is your second consecutive tournament victory without dropping a single map. Do you feel like you can keep up with that pace, considering some notable teams weren't participating in the Kingston HoNor Tournament and the competition in Tt eSports Challenge 2 was lackluster at best?

The only real competition in the Tt eSports Challenge 2 was Trademark eSports, but they had to drop out because of NASL. There were several good teams in the Kingston HoNor Tournament, but none of them could manage to take a single game off of us. I don't see any team giving us any trouble with the pace we're going at.

What are your plans for the future? You're one of the teams that never really scrims. With the recent success you've had and the $100,000 HoN Tour beta season on the horizon, do you look to commit more or do you plan to just go with the flow?

We're contemplating creating a DotA 2 team with those who are interested in Team Bacon Warriors. We have never scrimmed as a team versus other teams but we practice daily in hardcore team matchmaking matches. We're all willing to take it to the next level and solidify our undefeated record by practicing but it all depends on whether or not HoN Tour is worth it and if a sponsor would like to reach out to us.
