Andrey Pateychuk Wins EPT San Remo

Young Russian player Andrewy Pateychuk has won the European Poker Tour's San Remo main event. He won €680,000 in a heads-up chip chop deal with Dimitar Danchev. Pateychuk broke onto the live tournament scene out of nowhere when he finished 15th in the World Series of Poker Main Event.

Kevin MacPhee busted first at the table to dash his hopes of becoming the first two time winner on the EPT.

The only Italian remaining, Rocco Palumbo, went out next to dash the hopes of the local crowd watching.

On the final hand, Danchev shoved his last 1,250,000 with a suited K,Q, but ran into Pateychuks' pocket sevens which held up for the big win and first EPT title.
