Benny ‘psychobenny’ Spindler completed his dream run with his biggest victory to date by winning the prestigious 2011 European Poker Tour London main event. He defeated experienced American tournament pro Stephen O'Dwyer to take the title and £750,000.
The German former StarCraft player led with 13.49 million chips to O'Dwyer's 7.145 million in a brief heads-up battle that saw all the money go all in with O'Dwyer's five-bet shove K, J that Spindler called with his A,K. After flopping an ace, there was no hope for O'Dwyer.
This $1.16 million win barely beats his massive third place finish in the 2009 EPT PokerStars Caribbean Adventure where he won $1.1 million. Spindler, a man of few words was brief in his winning remarks, letting his dominant play speak for itself.
