Galfond Battles to $270k PLO Win

The swings in the online high stakes games are enough to give motion sickness to the toughest players. Phil "MrSweets28" Galfond has seen his bankroll and results fluctuate greatly all year, especially since he moved from the United States to Vancouver, Canada in order to continue playing online poker. Over the last month he lost over $500k in one week, bringing his year winnings down to just $50k, but he battled back and now stands at $325k in yearly profit after last night's session.

Galfond battled the likes of Ilari ‘Ilari_FIN’ Sahamies, Davin “mTw-DaviN” Georgi and !P0krparty? on his way to the $270 winning night over 7,994 hands.

Sahamies ended up donating $191k to Galfond and others, while Andreas "Skjervoy" Tobergsen took the dubious distinction as the nights biggest loser of $235k. Tobergsen has had a strong year overall but last night fell back to $1.2 million in profits.

One player who has been climbing the profit ranks steadily all year has been Israeli pro Rafi “refaelamit” Amit. He won $135k last night to add to an impressive 2011 profit of $1.69 million.
