This year, Blizzard announced they will make an exciting new addition to Starcraft 2 game play, Starcraft Motion Overdrive:
"Experience StarCraft like never before. Use gesture-based controls to direct your forces and out-move your enemies. Challenge your friends in intense multi-actor matches either locally via split screen or online. Wave your arms in the air like you do, in fact, care".
Blizzard also claimed there will be a new 5 man dungeon known as the Tomb of Immortal Darkness, where it is so dark that players can only see the ground around their feet. They've included some achievements with this dungeon as well, like, "If You Can't Beat 'Em, Join 'Em", where the objective is to "kill every member of your group while mind-controlled by Omgsogoth, Dark Lord of Twilight".
Blizzard's other gags include Crabby, The Dungeon Helper, which acts like the irritating paperclip from the Microsoft Word Processor. There is an interactive Crabby that you can check out here. In fact, you can just visit World of Warcraft's main page and find that Crabby is already there waiting to tell you things like, "did you know there is a new screenshot of the day every day?".
Finally, Blizzard introduced the Horadric Cube app for the iPhone, which allows you to create new apps by combining and transforming existing apps on your iPhone. There is a flash version of the app available here. Also worth noting, the disclaimer for this product states:"LEMARCHAND CONFIGURATION: In case the app was placed within itself, step through the resulting portal with your phone, proceed to the Hellforge, and use the Hellforge Hammer to destroy your phone (Hellforge Hammer sold separately)".
All in all, Blizzard brought their A-game this April Fools' Day. And fittingly so, considering they will be celebrating their 20th anniversary this year.
