The day started with 168 players at the Convention Center of the Sheraton WTC in São Paulo. The money bubble broke at 64 players and moved swiftly until finding Alex Manzano as the chip leader with 1,080,000 with the blinds at 8,000-16,000 with a 2,000 ante. He is the only player to have reached over a million in chips.
Day 1 chip leader, Leandro Csome from Argentina, sits in second with 959,000. He picked up the easiest 120,000 chips of his career in a sad hand where his opponent shoved all in, but didn't protect his cards which sat in front of his chips. The next player folded and the dealer swept his and the other players cards in the much. As the cards couldn't be retrieved accurately, when Csome called the 120,000 all in bet, he was awarded the pot automatically.
Some credit for the massive numbers are due to the first time the R$5,000 LAPT Brazil main event being held in the biggest city of the southern hemisphere and being held at the expansive Sheraton WTC in São Paulo.
Notables busting out on Day 2 included Maria Mayrinck, Christian de Leon, Angel Guillen, and two time winner Nacho Barbero.
The remaining 27 will play down the final table on Day 3 play - Saturday with the final table on Sunday.
The 536 players of the R$5,000 LAPT Brazil main event created a prize pool of R$2,391,630 which 64 finishers will share with the main event winner taking down R$615,840.
