In the wake of the robbery, the Bellagio announced that it would cease to accept the $25k chips that had made up the bulk of his heist in an attempt to make it difficult for the culprit to be able to cash out his stolen chips. That moves seems to have been the key step as 29-year-old Anthony Michael Carleo was caught trying to sell his ill-begotten chips to under cover agents.
Amazingly, Carleo was living at the Bellagio at the time of his capture. Even more surprising is that Anthony Michael Carleo is the 29 year old son of Las Vegas Municipal Court Judge George Assad.
Carleo normally lives in Colorado, works as a real estate broker, and owned two businesses, one a mobile disk jockey service, the other a limousine service co-owned with his stepfather, Gino Carleo.
He now makes his home in Clark County Jail awaiting a court date.
