Chiren80/Athene goes for poker world record!

Belgian poker player Boumaaza Bachir is over half way towards his world record goal of playing over a million poker hands in one month. Bachir, known to the World of Warcraft community as Athene, and known to the poker world as Chiren80 started his challenge on December 18th. He has been playing over 30k hands every day since December 18th, currently with 560k hands played.

Bachir started playing poker in 2008. In December 2009, he initially attempted his goal of playing one million hands in a single month but fell short due to technical problems and an unplanned trip to the PokerStars headquarters.

Some in the poker community have commented that Bachir is only playing $2NL in this challenge, but with rakeback and the possible world record notoriety, the poker community has created some buzz behind this notorious player.

Athene is known in the Warcraft community for having set a new record of achieving World First Lvl85 in five hours:



Athene is also known for his humorous videos about "pwning noobs" and being silly.
