Isildur1 defeats Tony G in SuperStar Showdown 2

add790c8d100e93a0e2fd546318119c1cee224dd365d04ccdba0ba4ea1.jpgIsildur1 emerged the victor in the second Superstar Showdown against Tony G. It took 7.5 hours to complete the second Superstar Showdown due to technical difficulties, slower play from Tony G. and the fact that four tables weren't consistently played. In the end of the 2,500 hands played, Isildur1 won $44,820 in the $50/$100 NL and PLO match.

The 37 year-old Tony G. did have as much as a $63k advantage in the match, but faded in the second half. The NLHE matches were very close with much larger swings and pots in the PLO portion where most of the hands were played. Tony G. did his usual smack talk in the chat box, but there were no responses or reaction from Isildur1.

Tony G. felt the match wasn't set up well for his game or style.

“I am a massive underdog, probably the biggest underdog ever. I’ll be playing under conditions that don’t suit me well and I am an old man after all. All I have going for me is heart and commitment. Let’s hope that is enough to at least put up a fight.”

This was the exchange after the match:

Isildur1: Gg, nice playing with u
Isildur1: u really did have heart
Isildur1: so close
Isildur1: cu guys
Tony G: all over
Tony G: I have been humiliated
Tony G: well done
Tony G: let me go and look for my bike

Isildur1 lost the first showdown on Sunday December 19th with Isaac "philivey2694" Haxton, having lost $41,700 after the 2,500 hands were played

No announcement has been made as to the third opponent in Superstar Showdown.
