ESWC announce 2011 event

ESWC will continue its competitions in 2011. Once again hosted in France, the tournament will be moved to November/December instead of in June.

After filing for bankruptcy back in 2008, a new ownership was announced in 2009. The event in 2010, held at Disneyland in Paris, France, was a success albeit some criticism from journalists and external on-lookers.

The prize pool of 2011 is set to $220,000 USD which exceeds last year's prize pool. Boasting with being the first company in the eSports world to use a bank guarantee, they assure that the same system will be settled this year.

The games have not been selected yet, but in the list of signing up for ESWC preliminaries we see the PC games Counter-Strike 1.6, Counter-Strike Source, DotA, Heroes of Newerth, League of Legends, Quake Live, StarCraft 2, Team Fortress 2, Trackmania Nations Forever and WarCraft 3.

This year's ESWC (2010) tournaments in the disciples Counter-Strike 1.6, Counter-Strike 1.6 Female, WarCraft 3, Trackmania, Quake Live, DotA, FIFA 10, Guitar Hero 5, Need for Speed Shift and Street Fighter IV were held.

WarCraft 3 champion of the year turned out to be Korean Orc player June "Lyn" Park. DotA champions were the Chinese team EHOME.
