Tonight, at 23:00, the group stage of the World Cyber Games kicks off. Dreams will be made reality, hopes will be shattered and a lot of creeps will have to put their lives to it when the winner of World Cyber Games 2010 will be crowned.
Manuel "Grubby" Schenkhuizen, Europe's brightest shining star and two-time World Cyber Games champion, starts his journey tonight in Group A against Croatian Antonio "RaZZoR" Burazer where anything but a win for the Dutchman would be considered a huge upset.
While most of the stir this World Cyber Games have been around the Dutchman, there is another Orc player in Group A just ready to burst. Facing the young Night Elf Russian Nikita "Nicker" Pomadov, Hyu Sub "FoCuS" Eom gets thrown into the fray directly and a win there should be vital to stay alive in this tournament.
Other group openers that will surely be a crowd pleaser are the games between June "Lyn" Park and Weilang "Fly100%" Lu and Zhou "TeD" Zeng versus Dmitriy "Happy" Kostin.
Aside from previous World Cyber Games editions, the organization has placed all the group stage matches on one day, which means we will have 40 games ahead of us starting at 23:00 CET tonight.
Stay with us as we follow the World Cyber Games.
