Valve to trademark 'DotA' - release getting closer?

Valve, the company behind Half-Life, has filled in a trademark application for 'DOTA' under the "computer and electronic game software" file.

Thus the second wave of information regarding Valve's DotA project has struck.

The first saw voice actor Jon St. Jon, known for immortalizing Duke Nukem, tweet that he "had a great time in Seattle last week recording for DotA. The guys at ValveSoftware are awesome!" While the tweet was removed, cache is king and internet never forgets.

DotA Allstars caretaker "IceFrog" announced earlier this year he was working together with Valve to bring out an self-cliented DotA game. But not since this month we have been seeing any other news regarding the topic.

Jon St. John's tweet also mentioned the Penny Arcade Expo. "Going to PAX? Might see you there..." This hints for a possible announcement at the Seattle game festival.
