
Recently a bomb was dropped inside CJ Entus Headquarters and Korean Starcraft as one of the most experienced, well-known and charismatic head coaches resigned following the SPL elimination.
According to a press release, Coach Cho wants to rest and have some time for himself. Also in a interview made by FOMOS.kr, he doesn't look sad at all:
- “Is it because of CJ’s performance? Because you failed to reach the finals?"
- “No, it’s not about that. I had thought from before that this season would be my last. How’s that? Pretty good exclusive, eh? (laughs).”
In 2002, he started coaching at GameI Innotz but shortly after they lost their sponsorship and renamed themselves as Greatest One. SUMA GO, was bought back and lived for some time in the spotlight before went by the name GO again. But Cho maintained the team with his own money, as later XellOs' revealed in a documentary by selling his car. He managed to revive the team and sponsors came. He always had a great bond to his players and by their training conditions and feelings. Such legendary names' as Rookie (former MBC Game commentator, in the Army now), TheMarine, IntotheRain (MBC Game Commentator), Midas, fOru, Nal_Ra, GoRush, Much, Savior were coached by him.
Cho Kyo Nam will be replaced by interim-coach Kim Dong Wu, a retired Zerg player and coach for the team. Although a successor is yet to be pointed.
