While the best of Asia rages war in Singapore for the coveted title of WCG-Asia champions, a small group of Malaysian DotA players gathered in Georgetown, Penang to try their luck at getting themselves seeded into the SMM Grand Final.
SMM continues to provide top-notch DotA action from Malaysia with the recently concluded Penang State qualifiers. A total of 13 teams were present in this qualifiers, with notable team, FTZ in the mix. FTZ was the team that ended MYM's hope of winning big in the Grand Final event for the 2009 edition.
At the end of the day, it was FTZ taking on IG.Ice in the finals with IG.Ice emerging victorious over FTZ. Third and fourth placing went to team INS and team OnBlackList respectively.
