Small Town Roots
Started by a group of players that were frustrated by the current lack of shout-casting outside of the big leagues, Minor League HoN seeks to change the balance in the shout-casting community by giving your average Joe 1400+ PSR player the chance to live out the dream and have his recently perfected Demented Shaman build on display for all the viewers in the Heroes of Newerth community.
The team at Minor League HoN consists of a small group of dedicated friends, some from real life, others online, and the level of quality shout-casting that they bring to the table lends itself to some great entertainment for all their viewers.

They have even garnered the attention of some of the members of HonCast.com themselves, and Phil himself has co-casted with their lead caster Rakura on more than one occasion. Phil's interest in helping spur the growth of this upstart Shout-casting crew definitely lends a level of legitimacy that other upstart Shout-casting crews have been lacking in recent weeks.
Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this crew is their dedication to the community. Forgoing high-level play in favor of giving pubs, scrims, and open tournaments a chance to get their spot in the limelight, they have succeeded in finding a niche in the Heroes of Newerth community that has been severely lacking thus far by involving the community in their viral marketing by showcasing their shout-casting talent and not being too selective in who they give a chance.
This strategy has been paying off for them in recent days as they have been offered the opportunity to shout-cast in the Alienware Linksys "FTW" Tournament, the newly created Newerth League, and in the GosuGamers WorldCup. With this new opportunity in front of them it will be important for this dedicated group of casters to maintain true to their roots and continue to involve the community as they continue to develop.
Perhaps one of their best points is their brutal honesty when it comes to the game itself, and also the many guest casts that they feature quite often. This unique method of approaching shout-casting has recently gotten them over 10,000 views in a little over two weeks since they did their first shout-cast and as a result they have gained the attention of a significant portion of the Heroes of Newerth community and the attention of organizations like GosuGamers.
Still, if your teams are involved in the Alienware, GosuGamers, or Newerth League tournaments, be sure to contact Rakura via PM on the Heroes of Newerth site and you just might have the unique opportunity to have your games casted for all the world to see. We'll continue to follow this up and coming crew as they navigate the difficult shout-casting scene and we highly suggest you give them a view and see just what all the excitement is about!
