With the smashup success of the weekly Honcast Invitational events, the extremely anticipated $1000 Honcast Invitational Tournament is soon to get underway. What exciting action will we see from these teams in the coming tournament? The in depth discussion is below.
Take a look at those brackets! With so many excellent teams paired up things are looking quite exciting for this upcoming event, but the one oddity is the presence of Druidz instead of T7H in the 6th seeded slot. According to Honcast.com T7H has officially declared themselves "dead" and as such the Honcast tournament staff decided to award their position in the tournament to Druidz because of their outstanding play in the previous qualifiers, including their runner-up finish in the final qualifier this past Sunday. A well deserved replacement indeed. On to the analysis and the excitement of this coming event.

For the first match we have team FnaticMSI in the number one seed against team NEVA in what might prove to be a match of wits. FnaticMSI has been extremely strong as of late with their performance at Dreamhack and other tournaments but NEVA is coming off of some strong momentum having just won the final Honcast Invitational qualifier that could prove to be a table-turner for this team that's been rife with lineup changes in recent weeks. This should be a very interesting match to watch with lots of excitement deciding who goes into the second round.
KDe Gaming (4) vs. DWi (5)

Next up we have the highly anticipated match-up between the number four seed KDe and the number five seed, DWi. Both teams have seen some impressive play in their history and both teams are arguably amongst the best teams in their respective countries. It will be interesting to see if KDe can continue their dominant performance coming off their impressive Dreamhack victory but for sure we'll be seeing DWI giving them the fight of their lives as they both struggle to push their way past the first round and one step closer to the championship and the $1000 prize.
SK-Gaming (3) vs. Team Druidz (6)

The third contest will be between SK-Gaming (formerly known as Team fiVe) and Druidz. As was mentioned earlier, Druidz was given a special invite to this event as a result of T7H disbanding. With fiVe's recent announcement that they are joining up with SK-Gaming they will no doubt be in top form for their new sponsor as they seek to prove why they are considered one of the best teams in Heroes of Newerth. Druidz will seek to answer the critics and prove that they deserved the special invite to the tournament and, as such, they will have a lot riding on victory. With much at stake this match-up should prove to be quite exciting for everyone involved, especially the viewers.
Team Loaded (2) vs. Empire Gaming (7)
Team Rosters

The final contest of the first round will take place between Loaded and Empire. With the uncertainty surrounding the condition of Loaded's roster minus Warden and Chu, this could prove to be an easy win for Empire in the first round, but do not count them out yet as they have still been taking down top tier teams in recent weeks. Perhaps since they are looking to prove something we will see a reinvigorated Loaded and Empire will have to fight for their lives in order to secure the first round win, or perhaps not. This is perhaps the match with the most questions surrounding it as no one knows for sure what might happen depending on who shows up to play for Loaded and what Empire will be bringing to the table.
With all these exciting matches in place it is clear that we are all in for a very entertaining tournament in the first round and beyond. As for which team will take it all and call themselves Honcast Invitational champions, it is very hard to say, but the one thing we know for sure is that all of these teams have the potential to crown themselves champions if they put forth their best efforts and show us what they got. With many of the best players in the game going head to head the level of excitement for this tournament is about as high as it can possibly be. Still, the first round matches will decide a lot and if there was such a thing as an advantage going into this event, that advantage would have to go to the team with the most dominant first round performance as they should be able to take that momentum and push themselves all the way to the title.
We'll continue to bring you the latest news from the Honcast Invitational and we look forward to seeing what exciting matches it will bring. Stay tuned!
