Stefan "MorroW" Andersson, Tobias "ZpuX" Nilsson and Hayder "HayprO" Hussein will all three enter the semi finals of playDH's StarCraft: Brood War tournament at DreamHack Summer 2010.
The three have in the spring qualified through one tournament each, and will join up with a fourth finalist on June 20.
DreamHack's very own gaming site playDH has hosted a series of qualifiers during the spring which were to culminate in a StarCraft 2 final at DreamHack Summer 2010. Due to the closing of the beta, the tournament jumped back to StarCraft: Brood War after the first qualifier.
"Playing StarCraft 2 [...] made me very lazy"
Hayder "HayprO" Hussein, who qualified through the second tournament, has been seen playing heaps of StarCraft 2 during the beta phase. Stepping back a notch to play the predecessor was not that easy, reveals the Swede.
- "Playing StarCraft 2 for four months made me very lazy. When I started playing some Brood War last week I had alot of trouble in macro and hotkeying armies. However now it feels natural again," says HayprO to GosuGamers.
The prize purse for the final lands on 25,000 SEK, equivalent to 2,498 Euros.
- "I hope I get to the finals since I don't wanna leave emptyhanded, but other than that I will need to be lucky to win the event," says HayprO.
Fourth finalist to qualify tomorrow
The last wildcard for the playoffs will be decided through an on-spot qualifier starting at 18:00 CET at DreamHack in Jönköping, Sweden. Sources to GosuGamers claim Swedish players as LaLuSh and Naugrim will enter the tournament. So far no brackets or sign-up sheet have been made official.
GosuGamers will keep you updated on the qualifier and the playoffs throughout the weekend.
