
This summer, Heroes of Newerth will enter Jönköping, Sweden, as DreamHack Summer 2010 will be the home of no less than three tournaments.
The world's biggest LAN announced in Februray that a Heroes of Newerth tournament were to take place, with a dashing prize pool of 50,000 SEK ($6,268 USD). With today's announcement we find out that Sapphire and S2 Games have went in with an additional sum of 120,000 SEK ($15,044 USD) to raise the stakes to a total of 170,000 SEK ($21,313 USD).
The tournament will play out in regular DreamHack fashion: first a BYOC mode for the group stage to then transition over to a tournament area on tournament computers. Grand final will be played on the DreamArena Extreme stage.
As if this was not enough to attract the Heroes of Newerth fans, DreamHack will be offering two more tournaments included in the Digital Youth Awards. These two tournaments, one for Sweden and one for Germany, will send off the winners to Shanghai, China to participate in exhibition matches at the venue. The winning Swedish and German team are also autoberthed to DreamHack Winter 2010 for another large tournament.
DreamHack Summer 2010 opens its doors on June 19.
