Flash to Make History With Third OSL Win

Amongst the ongoing controversy of match rigging, illegal gambling, and KeSPA's negotiations with Blizzard there is a shining light in the Korean e-Sports scene. Lee 'Flash' Young Ho could be the youngest player to ever win the Golden Mouse trophy. This trophy is given out to the players who have won 3 OnGamenet StarLeauge titles. Only three players have ever had the honor of doing so; NaDa, Jaedong, and JulyZerg. Not even the great Boxer himself has won this unique trophy.

After Flash's win over Pure in the semi-finals two weeks ago he secured his place in the finals. With his impressive record so far there seems to be no stopping him. Flash is simply dominating the scene right now with a perfect 10 for 10 record in his past 10 games. He isn't only dominating in the OSL, but he's also continuing to destroy his competition in the MSL and help his team stay at the top in the ProLeague.

Standing in his way of making history is CJ Entus' EffOrt. EffOrt took the long way to the finals having played over half a dozen games in the round of 16 before he could advance to the quarter-finals of the OSL. Several draws in the Group D tiebreakers of the round of 16 allowed EffOrt to finally clinch the final spot in the round of 8. EffOrt is criticized by some for his request for a rematch which was allowed in the Group D tiebreakers. His reason? A faulty mouse during a match. Without this rematch EffOrt would have been eliminated from the tiebreakers, but he was not and eventually a draw would be the result and more matches would have to be played.

Despite what happened in the round of 16, EffOrt is now on a seven-game win streak in the OSL and an 11-game win streak in his over-all league games. Flash on the other hand is on a 12-game win streak and is 9 for 10 in his last 10 games against a Zerg opponent. EffOrt has only won 4 of his last 10 games against a Terran opponent. EffOrt has also never made a finals appearance in either the OSL or the MSL while Flash has now been to the OSL finals twice and is soon going to make a second appearance in the MSL finals.

The finals will take place May 22nd 11:00 CET in, of all places, a Korean Air hangar. That's right, an airplane hangar. At only the age of 17, Flash is quickly on his way to making history with the odds in his favor. A Golden Mouse trophy will only further solidify him as one of the greatest players to ever have played the game of StarCraft.
