The event welcomed no less than 80 contestants coming out from all corners of the world, using an original set of rules. Several well-renowned names such as Park 'Space' SeungHyun, Marcus Sebastian 'ThorZaIN' Eklöf , Pedro 'LucifroN' Moreno Durán and Mihaylo 'KaS' Hayda were invited in the beginning of the season with the hard task to pave their way to the playoffs where consistent players autoberthed from last season like Kim 'ViOlet' DongHwan, Tobias 'Reignofdark' Muth, Juan 'VortiX' Moreno Durán were awaiting.
After nearly 3 months of competition, the golden quartet of the semis was unveiled, made by Kim 'ReMinD' SungSik, Roh 'RJW' JinWook, René 'Ciara' Krag and Artem 'Cash' Schirobokov.
While the Koreans made their way to the grand finals, the European duet was sent to the consolation final bracket.
The final showdown, played in a Bo5 format, went in favor of the Night Elf star who dropped only one map to his sparring partner.
The Russian Orc could triumph in the consolation bracket and grabbed the bronze with a 2-0 score.
