The first round of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid Season Cup 2024 playoffs ended today, with two series where the losing teams would see their hopes and dreams of becoming champions disappear. Falcons AP.Bren made quick work of See You Soon in the first series, but the next was a full-five-game brawl between two teams that refused to throw in the towel. Unfortunately for either Ninjas in Pyjamas Flash or HomeBois, one of them would have to go home.

Singapore makes it to the top four

Having made it into MSC 2024’s Group Stage via the Wildcard Tournament, HomeBois was already keeping the Malaysian dream alive as the second team from the region in the tournament. Managing to take second place in Group C, HB was drawn into a tough Playoff battle against the Singaporean champions, NIP Flash. What ensued was an amazing series between two of the best teams, where neither wanted to give up and lose their tournament lives.

The two teams fought back and forth, not only in game victories, but the same occurred in the Land of Dawn. Some brilliance was seen, with some interesting picks, such as the Xavier from HB, and the mid-lane Martis from NiP Flash. When the dust settled, the teams stood at 2-2, with a decisive game five needed to determine who would survive. With everything on the line, nothing changed, with the teams going kill-for-kill constantly, finding pickoffs where needed. However, Keith “Vanix” Lim Roger became the game changer, securing a MANIAC as the SG team walked forward into the semi-finals.

With that, sadly, HomeBois would leave MSC 2024, as NiP Flash became the fourth semi-finalist at the tournament. The team also became the first SG team to make it into the top four in three years, as they now look to take down another MY team in the next round – Selangor Red Giants. Tomorrow, July 12th, will see the first semi-final between Liquid Echo and Falcons AP.Bren before Saturday finds the second grand-finalist at MSC 2024.
