Cambodian Mobile Legends: Bang Bang fans had everything to cheer for today when their hometown heroes, BURN x FLASH, entered the Land of Dawn to take on the M3 World Champions, Blacklist International. Although one of these teams would be sent to the third/fourth place playoff – the other would become the first grand finalist at MSSSC 2023 and be ready to challenge for the championship title.

BURN clearly came out to play today, and it showed right from the start of the series, as they pushed Blacklist to their limits. Although Blacklist seemed to have an early game advantage in game one, it was nothing compared to the BURN mid-game power-spike, which propelled them into a winning position. Unfortunately, the experience of Blacklist came out on top, with a magnificent defence from OhMyV33nus and Yue to turn the game around and claim the series lead. However, unrelenting, the Cambodians did not let the loss get them down, coming back with a massive victory to tie the series.

It was back-and-forth between these two teams, with BURN appeasing their cheering fans with some fantastic plays across the map. But Blacklist matched this, picking apart their opponent’s mistakes to get to match point. With that loss, it looked as though the wind had finally been knocked out of BURN’s sails, while Blacklist came out empowered and ready to fight. In what would be the final game of the series, the PH squad stomped on their opponents, picking them off across the map, claiming every objective, and eventually closing out the series in a 3-1 victory.

Unfortunately for the hometown heroes, BURN x FLASH, this loss means that they would not be challenging for the MSC 2023 championship trophy. However, after some fantastic performances throughout the event, the team can go into the third/fourth place playoff and possibly come out on top. For Blacklist, this is their first time returning to the MSC grand finals since their loss to Execration back in 2021 – and they’ll be looking to add the final piece to their championship crown.
