The MBC preliminaries were played today. Actually they finished after there was a walkout due to the broadcasting rights issue with KeSPA last time. Some of the fan favorites made it, some did not. And a WarCraft III player made it?
The players were split into 24 groups of eight. They then played best of three single elimination. Each group winner qualifies to the MBC Survivor League, which is the qualification for the MSL. These players will be joined by the eight seeds from last seasons Survivor. That makes Survivor a 32 man tournament where 16 advance to the MSL to face the 16 players who are already there.

IriS was no big surprise, but Chalrenge beat aQua in his group final and TheZerg advancing over Shudder, Anytime and Terato was a bit more of a surprise. Sheis is one of the practice partners of Hwasin and he even beat Casy in his semifinal. Very impressive. Midas looked like he had few troubles with his group, the only thing of note here is perhaps that Garimto was knocked out in the first round. sOo actually beat YellOw[ArnC] in the final in what has to be called an upset. Shark beat Junwi and ZergMan, which in itself is not bad. GoRush beat the young player By.Sun, then JuniToss and MenSol. MenSol was the player who knocked out Draco.

Go.go beat a ChoJJa that seems to just keep losing and then Siz)KaL. GGPlay didn't face the most known player and neither did Sea until he faced oDin in his final. FireBatHero and Oov didn't face the biggest profiles either. Inter.Calm was one of the most important players for STX Soul last season and he beat Eliza in his final. FreeDom.weRRa is a former WarCraft III profile. He even won a OGN title in wc3 in 2005. Shine beat By.FanTaSy, who is facing Draco in the PgR21 tournament, in the semifinal. YellOw was sadly eliminated in the other semifinal.

GanZi advanced without losses, while Pj didn't get further than round one in group 17. TT advanced after beating Bright. Tossgirl lost in round one in this group. Luxury beat Rock after he beat mumyung in the semis. Rock won vs Dove in his semifinal. Child beat rainbow, pepe beat lake, jy and miracle. To manys disappointment StOrk beat Reach in his final. Boxer dominated dOnGraE and proved once again that he's far from done. Pure won vs Clon, TeSter and TheManiaMST.
