Scandal in the ESL qualifiers

[s]event[/s]

Soon after the ESL qualification for the EPS-Spot began, it became obvious that it was all about Command & Conquer: Generals and StarCraft: Brood War. Both communites accused each other of faking matches etc.

Now, the ESL qualification period is over and although Brood War won this battle, it doesn't feel good.
On Wednesday evening, ESL-Admin Enzymir posted a news, that 6 CCG-Players were faking matches and therefore all their matches would be deleted. Although Brood War already was ahead with about 400 games, another 850 games were added.
A huge arguement began, the brood war community invading the CCG forum and the other way round. As of now, Enzymir didn't reveal any proof of the CCG players faking matches and that's why rumours are being spread everywhere that Brood War was chosen as the EPS game beforehand.

ESL facts

The Electronic Sports League is one of the largest online-leagues worldwide, having ladders for more than 100 games.
The Electronic Pro Series (EPS) is the professional part of the ESL, involving prize money (~100000 Euro).
Counter-Strike, Fifa 2005, WarCraft III, Live for Speed and Battle for Middle Earth are already part of the EPS, in the upcoming season Battlefield 2 and the community-game (BW) will be added.
The key for winning the community-game battle was activity. Similar to the GIGALiga, the game with the most games was chosen for the EPS.
Attendants for the community-game battle were Dawn of War, Empire Earth 2, Act of War, Rome: Total war, Panzers, Command & Conquer: Generals (Zero Hour) and StarCraft: Brood War.

This evening, Enzymir is about to reveal the proofs for CCG players faking their matches. It is unlikely, that the ESL deleted 850 games for no reason and therefore we can be sure, that we will have a huge EPS for Brood War which also means ESL TV coverage and a lot of prize money involved.
Who said BW was dead?
