xPeke and company came out with a perfect 3-0 after a weekend rich on technical chaos. With 79% win rate, Fnatic are thus second in the ranking after Gambit Gaming.

After disappointing to say the least performance at IEM World Championship, Fnatic returned to the European circuit with full force. Team's cohesion was exemplary and their team fights pristine and the boys in orange and yellow deservedly took the +3 points.

Yet that was something for which they had to endure a plethora of technical difficulties, starting with their match against EG getting postponed till Sunday due to Internet issues at the ESL studio. Even more delays happened in the next day and not until some time passed were Fnatic and EG allowed to being their game.

If giving Anivia to Froggen is never a good idea on paper, Fnatic showed that day they're not afraid of the Dane's best character. Running composition with three peelers in Nasus, Nunu and Jayce, Fnatic were able to protect Varus perfectly and with their split-pushing in full force they ultimately took their first match for the weekend.

Fnatic fell back to the same Nasus/Nunu/Varus trio with the assassin bursts of Zed and Kassadin for their match against SK Gaming and for the second time they were able to take the "El Clasico" of LoL home.

Their victorious crusade continued with a face-off against Copenhagen Wolves in what was, surprisingly, the closest match for Fnatic this week. Running the unorthodox for today's meta Gangplank jungle worked well for Fnatic in the early game but whatever advantage they gained quickly evaporated as a team-fight was botched and CPW scored an ace and a baron. Although situation looked dire for Fnatic, things soon took a 180-degree turn for the black-and-orange command and they retorted to the ace with an ace for themselves. Not wanting to see this opportunity slip between their fingers, Fnatic initiated a final push and claimed their 3-0.

Although since the start of the LCS Against All Authority have been a team that are, at best, an unsafe bet, the French roster is finally showing some consistency. After going 1-4 during super week, aAa showed this weekend hat they do indeed have teeth and can bite you hard.

aAa's opening victory came in the match against SK Gaming, featuring a very fed Nono on Vayne and a disastrous final engagement by Ocelote's Jarvan that basically giftwrapped the triumph for the French team. A loss to EG's hard initiate combo of Jarvan/Malphite followed but the setback was only temporary: the Frenchmen returned strong against Dragonborn to deliver the forth loss in a row for Shushei's team.

With 2-1 in week five, aAa climb to fifth position in the ranking, right behind the European powerhouse quartet of Gambit, Fnatic, EG and SK. As three more matches are in store for them next weekend, the team will be looking forward to climb even higher (or drop back to the lower portions of the table).

With Fnatic covered and Gambit taking a break this week, time to take a look at the other two mastodons, EG and SK Gaming.

Both teams suffered heavy losses at IEM World Championship and this was a particularly hard jab at EG. The Geniuses had previously suffered a disastrous super week (going 1-4) and came into week five with eight losses in their last ten matches.

Like Fnatic, however, the EG we saw this weekend was the EG we know to do well. The team relied on familiar champions like Lux, Jarvan and Rekekton in combination with novelty picks (at least for them) like Elise support to effortlessly squash both Dragonborns and aAa.

In the meanwhile, SK Gaming negated their outstanding 4-1 super week score by going 1-2 in week five, proving once again they're a team of much inconsistency. Nevertheless, with a total score of 8-6, Ocelote and company are still ranked third in the overall rankings, just an inch ahead of EG who have one more loss.
