When was the last time you ever rented a skin in League thru Loot Boxes? That's correct, never. That's because Skin rental in League is useless, the skin shouldn't be rented with its own shard. Having the price changed from shard disappearing to Blue Essence is the solution for this useless option.
Admit it, you'd rather sell the skin shard and gain some Orange Essence than spend the shard on the skin that expires within 7 days. The gained Orange Essence could come handy in the future, when you get some Rare Skin.
10,000 to 13,000 Blue Essence should be a good deal for a rented skin that expires without the shard disappearing, since Blue Essence are easy to get (tho, i'd rather spend that 13k BE to change name). If Riot were to release a graph everytime the "Skin rent button" were pressed, it would be flatter than Salar de Uyuni (had to search that).
