Don’t feel bad if you have been playing for a long time and you are silver or gold. I think it’s easy to lose perspective if you’ve been playing this game for a long time and what seems totally obvious to you once required a big time investment to learn.
I began playing this game in January and arrogantly assumed I would hit at least platinum this year because I had played Starcraft 2 at high diamond and HotS (lul) to mid-masters. After getting placed at Iron 2, 900 games later I am comfortably nestled at gold 3. I seriously underestimated how complex and nuanced League was.
Sure there are a lot of transferable skills but this game is primarily about making decisions based on game knowledge.
Don’t beat yourself up or call yourself trash if in reality you are sitting pretty close to the centre of the bell curve- people who play this game are very dedicated and one of the most skilled gaming communities I have encountered.
