How is this ok ??
really irresponsible/malicious marketing imo. Stop calling them prestige skins if you cant use "prestige" points. dont market your points as the currency to buy prestige skins then not allow you buy the prestige skins with them. it literally says "forge your prestige points into exclusive prestige skins" on the tooltip then doesn't let you unlock the prestige skins because you need the $15 battle pass and weeks of game playing.
also, Riot marketed Prestige Points as the currency for the Prestige Skins for the rest of the yearthroughout the year, then continued to lock Prestige skins behind a $15 battle pass WITHOUT letting you use your Prestige Points on them for months. Players sit with stacks of Prestige Points they got for the upcoming Prestige skins and get forced (if they want the prestige skin afterall) into paying another $15 for the skin they were advertised while their points go unused. Its sketchy and feels terrible as a supporter of the game.
edit: i bought the prestige points from lootboxes so i wouldn't have to get the pass+ play a bunch of games this month, which was gonna be hard on me because of work/school and little time to play. Little did I know you cant use the prestige points on the prestige skins as theyre advertised and need the pass anyway. So now I am sitting on my points I was baited into buying.
Edit2: every raging pm and comment that says “there’s prestige events and prestige currency u fkn idiot go read!!1!” Is entirely missing the point. It’s intentionally confusing. It’s intentionally convoluted. And it’s intentionally easy to be led to believe as a player, in client, that prestige points will unlock the prestige skins they are actually associated strictly with event passes. If it wasn’t, all battle pass prestige skins could be purchased with prestige points or they wouldn’t call them Prestige skins from event passes in the first place
