Doublelift: "Getting ahead in CS shouldn't give you a bounty, it ruins the point of outlaning

getting ahead in CS shouldn't give you a bounty, it ruins the point of outlaning someone
if your team is ahead, you shouldn't get a bounty going 0-0-0 because the enemy top/mid/ad got stomped
the only time it makes sense to have one is when you're on a killstreak

Kelby May's question:

More gold = more items (likely more experience) and a tougher kill though no? It seems like your philosophy encourages what I (personally) view as pro LoL's biggest faults, a lack of fighting and kills. From a viewership perspective to be clear.

DL's answer:

what usually happens is I end up with a huge bounty randomly from winning lane or my solo lanes getting ahead but bot being even/behind, and I'm just a juicy target for the enemy to rubberband back into the game so I play safer

Thorin opinion:

Comeback mechanics are for children so they don't cry when they play Mario Kart. They have no place in esports.

EDIT:

Riot Blaustoise answer on Thorin's opinion:

I disagree. When power is accrued in gold and levels (not individual skill) throughout the game comeback mechanics make sense.
A pro player can't beat me in a 1v1 if I'm lvl 6 and they're lvl 1.
Meanwhile I will never beat Lebron in a 1v1 to 100 even if I start with 99.

part 2:

To clarify, you use your individual skill to get the gold and levels obviously. But getting IE doesn't make you better at League. And if faker and I both click on each other as caitlyn and I have IE and he has doran's blade, he loses.
There is no IE in basketball.

part 3:

I think some of the worst metas in League had the highest incidents of snowballing.
Dlift makes some good points about CS on bounties (though I disagree somewhat w/ him on that), but to say "comeback mechanics have no place is esports" is a pretty misinformed stance

Wickd's responce:

A lot of people keep comparing it to football (soccer) to show that players don't get stronger by having a lead, but I'd say the comparison with comeback mechanics is similar to a team getting 2 points instead of 1 per goal due to being behind. We both agree that would be silly.

EDIT2:
Weldon's responce to DL:

Just stop getting a cs lead. Problem solved!
