The previous discussion was removed, but I feel that it's still an important thing that needs to be talked about (I'm not doing this for upvotes or attention, and at no point am I asking for any form of vote manipulation).
WIth the upcoming changes to "Anti-Cheat" methods for their game, Riot will be making it impossible for Linux players and VM players to play league of legends.
I hope we can have some interesting discussion about the topic at hand, whether it be positive or negative. I'm not stating this as an attempt to gain upvotes or anything, and I'm not asking for attention/visibility.

Riot has been testing their "new" Anti-Cheat(AC) on PBE for around a month now and just recently made it live on North America.
Their new AC has stopped all virtual environments from working. All Linux users use some sort of Virtual environment software to be able to run and play the game they love League of Legends now that isn't possible.
Many many Linux users have voiced their concerns over the last month even begging riot to not implement their new AC before making it compatible with Virtual Environments and yesterday was the first time they replied to an Linux comment and this is what they said..
"We've not specifically tested for compatibility with Wine or other Windows emulation or virtualization software. Because of the complex nature of our protection and the many variations of software out there, we can't change our solution to be compatible with all of them. However, we are open to working with any software vendor that wants to make their software compatible."
This is not even 24 hours before they went ahead and made it live not caring what will happen to their Linux player base which is around 1%.
In the thread about Known issues and fixes caused by the new Anti-Cheat they say this...
Do not run the game in a virtual machine. We are not currently compatible with virtualization or Windows emulation software, including Wine. This will cause a game crash or reconnect loop.
Basically saying no linux users can play our game anymore after we have been playing for years and spent countless of hours on this game and spent money on it.
