To me, voice lines like "Friends just get in the way", "Fighting together? Guess it's not that bad.", "If I trusted people I'd need even more armor", etc. Are a bit weird coming from a character that can do nothing on her own (She can't use her E unless there is an ally nearby, which also means her Q doesn't heal her). Her attitude seems a lot more fitting for a Solo-Lane Bruiser.
Edit:
I am baffled by people's inability to understand my point.
I'm not asking for every support to have a jolly "supportive" attitude, I'm just questioning the decision of giving this particular support an attitude and voice lines that directly contradicts her gameplay.
Then they bring Thresh as a counterpoint to this...
Thresh is a Jailer, his voice lines are about you not getting away, his kit is full of CC. It all fits together pretty well.
And even if there are more characters, support or otherwise, with this problem. How does that invalidate my point?
As /u/DefectiveSp00n said in a comment to this post:
"There's a difference between a Supportive Personality and an outwardly aggressive attitude to someone you are personally reliant on.
Thresh is a manipulator. It shows up in his kit. He manipulates allies (W) and he manipulates enemies (Q E R). That's a supportive personality, because it is still in his best interest to leave you alive. Hell, he doesn't even take your soul when you die
Pyke is out to kill everyone, but even he recognizes that he relies on his allies, stating that "You're on my list, just at the very very bottom." Meaning that he is willing to cooperate, but that doesn't change that he is eventually going to be after you.
Meanwhile, Rell's voice lines (Specifically "Don't get comfortable. I work alone.") Are all pretty weird as she almost exclusively relies on allies due to her low damage, 2 abilities that turn off with out allies, and stance dancing that leaves her slowed."
