Many predictions made by fans and analysts alike were proven false for all the matches played during the quarterfinals. Although the only "real" upset was SSG completely dominating LZ, the teams who were considered "easy" wins, didn't go down without giving the other teams the fight of their lives.
Although both WE and C9 came into the tournament through the Play-In Stage as the 3rd seed in their respective region, the weight that the two teams carried were very different. C9's advancement was seen as the "last chance" while WE's advancement was seen as "only natural". But as the game commenced, C9 stripped WE of their breathing room and pushed them beyond the expectations. C9 definitely deserved the title, "NA's Last Hope".
