Less than a week after departing Unicorns of Love, jungler Mateusz “Kikis” Szkudlarek has found his new gig, joining Gamers2 of the European Challenger Series.

The talented jungler, who some credit as one of the best in the region, departed Unicorns of Love last week, a few months after helping finish as the runner-up of the spring split, citing capability problems within the team.

Gamers2 is hopeful as the late-season addition of Szkudlarek will help bolster their efforts to make a push to the LCS with a competitive battle rumbling in the challenger series. Only trailing the undefeated Team Dignitas EU, the newly upgraded G2 are hopeful they’ve now closed the gap heading into the final week before playoffs.

“Every player in this team is individually skilled and I think I can bring all of the pieces together into one,” said Szkudlarek via the team statement. “Under our manager Innerflame’s wing, we don’t have to worry about anything outside of the game and we can purely focus on qualifying for LCS.”

The signing solidifies a successful week for G2, who swept Denial Esports while clinching a position in the upcoming playoffs. Szkudlarek will be replacing Nubar “Maxlore” Sarafian, whose two-week stint can now be downgraded to a cameo.
