LAN mode confirmed for World Championship Grand Finals

No tournament goes without its faults, but some can harm the integrity of the sport.

From the sounds of it, this will be remedied by the confirmed LAN client to be used in the Grand Finals. Riot has been working to develop it after the core of the issues began arising since the beginning of day 2 of the World Championships.

With it being completed, there should be no outlying factors that determine the outcome of the finals. We found Yellowpete had something to say about it in a Reddit thread regarding the update:

"We actually used that already for the last quarterfinal game and the semis. None of the player's pcs had connection to the internet during those games. The time they needed to set this up after the third day's disaster is surprisingly short, which is good on the one hand but on the other makes you wonder why it wasn't done in the first place just to eliminate risks, even though it seems to have been relatively simple."

With that in mind, it makes you wonder why it took so long for something that potentially would preemptively save the issues from beginning to be developed, but the least we can look forward to a fair finals.

Knowing the best will take the tournament and be crowned at the top without outlying factors interfering, the setup is a best of 5 series that will take hold on Saturday at 7:30 PST.
