Last night, World Elite and CLG.eu came out for the fourth quarter final match of the Season 2 World Championship but could not proclaim a winner: a series of technical crashes forced a postpone of the last game, bringing the playday to a dramatic end.

Everything was flawless as the third day of the World Championship began: World Elite stormed the first game and were on a good pace in the second, taking the first two kills and a 3K gold advantage at around the 13th minute, which is when the first problems appeared: the game crashed, forcing a remake with new picks and bans.

For a third time this match, the Chinese dominated the early and mid game, taking a 9-1 lead at some point picking up CLG.eu’s towers, marching to what appeared to be another 2-0 quarter final. Never giving up, however, the Europeans stalled the game to the best of their ability and pushed it to a tie after displaying their signature late-game prowess. Soon enough, the deciding match was under way and after sixty more minutes, CLG.eu were within hand’s reach of the semi -finals: super minions were bashing at the nexus towers, CLG had baron and the caught out Ryze and Irelia of WE were brought down to half health before ClearLove could engage with his Nocturne. Poetically enough, the Paranoia brought not only darkness, but a dead stream as well.

Few minutes later, the World Championship broadcast was back online, the reason for the blackout apparently being a crash of venue’s internet. A decision for yet another remake was imposed and CLG.eu and WE entered their fifth game but it was not meant to be: another crash put a definite end to the playday.

What was the reason for the crashes in the first place, however? The theory of all being a large scale DDoS attack was soon refuted by media tweets, although readers are advised to take everything with a grain of salt.

In their official announcement, RIOT Games are informing that the semi-finals as well as the third and final game between CLG.eu and WE will be played at a later, still undisclosed date, "from a new location with a secure Internet connection." Matches will be broadcast live, scheduling information coming soon.
