 VS

Match Context: Young Glory has proven that they aren't exactly bottom of the pack, even if close.  That title belongs to World Elite Academy as Young Glory have proven to have evolved their strategy and vision.  However, LGD constantly pulls off flashes of brilliance and then falters.  Can they keep themselves under control and utilize their potential to save from the humiliation of being defeated by Young Glory?

Key Points:

  • YG aggressively invade and establish area control early into the game, despite having the later game composition.
  • Even when behind LGD were strong on the siege, utilizing their composition to take down turrets.
  • LGD stole the following baron.
  • Despite an 8k gold lead and being ahead in every way imagineable, LGD comes back and establishes a lead.

Key Points:

  • YG do an early dragon dance to open things up.
  • YG pull a huge trade that brings them 3 for 1 in mid.
  • Blood bath and greed continues with more than a kill per minute. DianGun fails a very embarassing tower dive.
  • LGD's bottom lane crushes YG's bottom lane, allowing them to have very early inner tower pressure.
  • YG follow up the first dragon immediately with another after finding territorial control.
  • YinFu becomes insanely fed, allowing him to go Sword of the Occult.
  • The catchers get caught, but a baron eventually helps allow YG narrowly win a fight that finds them an inhibitor.
  • LGD stall for a bit but YG ultimately close.

VS

Match Context: This matchup is the very definition of a David vs. Goliath showdown.  World Elite Academy have failed to pull out all but one win in the entire season of LPL.  In the meantime, OMG have been fixing their errors and showing times of being the king team of the region.  Will World Elite Academy pull out a major upset or OMG silence them yet again?

Key Points:

  • World Elite Academy ran a composition that utilized Khan's strong concept of split pushing while allowing multiple threats to free Kog'Maw up from pressure.
  • OMG featured a composition that was very good at peeling for San's Twitch late while also directly countering many of the champions on WE.a.
  • Cool opens up with a first blood against Xiye, solo.
  • OMG manage to secure nearly all buffs in the game.
  • After establishing an early gold lead, OMG proceed to roam a a 5 man squad, but don't execute perfectly.
  • OMG play way better in teamfights, seizing a baron and winning a 5 for 1 trade.  Cloud plays extremely well throughout the series and OMG takes game one.

--VOD--  (03:04:00)

Key Points:

  • OMG form a very protective comp around Kog'Maw while WE.a focus on getting a very early gank potential off.
  • An uncalculated invade by OMG forces them to trade one for three in favor of WE.A.
  • Shortly after, Cloud lands a very clutch aqua prison and OMG come back and nearly erase the deficit.
  • OMG take a very strong objective lead heading into the midgame.
  • OMG sustains a massive gold lead that only grows as the game goes on, showing off the placement disparity.
  • OMG finish the week with the only 2-0 set.
