compLexity Gaming closes HoN section

?
One year is over and so is the second stint of compLexity Gaming in Heroes of Newerth. Exactly one year after the esteemed gaming organization picked up the team around bkid and MoonMeander, the contracts will not get renewed and coL leaves HoN again.

The roster of compLexity Gaming was in flux lately with MoonMeander scrimming and practicing with another team and Peterpandam and Tralfamadore taking a few strokes in the big ocean of Dota 2. Now compLexity Gaming officially closes the HoN section - one year after signing the dominant squad around MoonMeander, bkid, Peterpandam, Haxxeren and Chessie.

Right off the bat the team had great early success with tournament victories in the DreamHoN Summer Championship and the DreamHoN Redemption event, securing themselves a spot in the DreamHack Winter 2012 festivities. They entered that competition as the favorite, but only finished in the runner-up position - something that repeated itself at the most recent DreamHack Summer 2013 again.

After that the dominance of the team was broken, but still the North American squad was one of the top teams in all of Newerth with second and third place finishes in the HoN Tour Diamond Division cycles. Unfortunately for the roster they had to replace Chessie with Riser_ midway through HoN Tour, but after that the team looked back on track with more practice and a changed attitude. The Garena Star League 2013 was missed by the roster, but overall they started to perform better and better again with the first place finish in the SoundBlaster Heroes League and a third place finish at the HoN Tour Grand Finals in Las Vegas.

After that Haxxeren left the team, Tralfamadore rejoined his old squad and the trend was definitely going upwards with DreamHack Summer 2013 on the horizon. Still they couldn't win on the biggest stage, finishing second in Jönköping, Sweden for the second consecutive time. Following that result MoonMeander started to scrim with KheZu and sLiCKz in their new team, while Peterpandam and Tralfamadore played more and more Dota 2 - including a respectable Top 8 finish in the EIZO Cup #5. Most recently the squad returned back to Newerth with a more active scrim profile, playing with zai` on the suicide position.

According to comments from the team this decision of compLexity Gaming will only remove the [coL] tag from their names, but not disband the entire team. bkid, PPD, Tralfamadore and Riser_ will continue to play alongside each other - with the former Trademark eSports and sG.eu member zai` most likely joining them.

Still Heroes of Newerth loses it's only giant global organization with compLexity Gaming packing their bags. Now only Lions eSports is still invested in the scene with their pro team and a female team, while Absolute Legends also still has a pro team featuring Kookiez, KingPlato and their boys. Still overall the scene is pretty empty now with big names, but the announcement of HoN Tour Season 2 and the league actually starting soon with a global flair and a huge prizepool could attract organizations back to the shores of Newerth again.
