HGC North America – Open Division

As the seven weeks of the second half of the HGC Open Division have been completed, eight teams will now compete in a three day, double elimination bracket playoff.

As the second phase of the Open Division comes to a close one last cup remained leading into the playoffs as teams are fighting for the best possible seeding.

All eyes are on tonight as the semi-finals of the last North American Open Division Cup of this phase take place. While the top eight teams are practically set for the playoffs, all teams are fighting not only for prize money, but for the best seeding possible for the Open Division Playoffs in two weeks.

Today the seventh and FINAL North American Open Cup will begin as teams play for the best seeding in the playoffs where only eight teams will fight for the chance to take on the lowest two HGC Professional teams in The Crucible.

Only two cups remain until the North American Open Division playoffs. As the top four are now fairly clear, teams are fighting for the final four spots along with prize money and seeding going into the playoffs.

We’re about halfway through the second phase of HGC Open Division and as only eight teams will advance to the playoffs every single cup is vital.

While the first half of the year is complete, so begins the second half where all points are reset and amateur teams have another shot at making it into the HGC Premier League with the best of the best teams in their region.

With this phase, the top eight will move to the playoffs, so now more than ever every single cup is important.

With only three cups remaining most of the top eight teams are in a fairly comfortable position in the standings, but as we approach the playoffs all that matter is the prize money and the best spot possible to fight for a chance in The Crucible.

The semi-finals for the 4th Open Division Cup start tonight at 18:00PDT with Firm Handshake v. Donkeys R Us and Held it Down v. Flame is Lame. Be there!

Week in and week out, teams will fight to move up in the standings and secure their spot in the Open Division playoffs, along with a chance to play in the HGC Premier Leagu

To give back to the dedication of our amateur players, Blizzard will now add rewards for those players participating in the Open Division.
