If you think the enemy team is doing boss, you don't need to go by yourself to look. If they are, there's nothing you can do about it. If they aren't, you've wasted your time looking when you could have been doing something else.
The number of times I've seen people check out an obvious boss attempt and then die because they get spotted and they're totally alone. Subsequently there's one less person to defend the boss everyone knew they were taking.
So many people who play this game get tunnel vision on one mechanic at a time, in this case having vision. Vision is good if you can ensure you're safe while doing so. I can think of no situation where dying for vision is worth it.
