She's powerful, isn't your standard heal-bot and even looks tournament worthy. Auriel is the support hero non-support players want to play.
For the past 2-3 months, there has been a growing sense of dissapointment with the way Support heroes are being handled. The community being vocal about something they don't like isn't new, but when some of the most renowned support players in the game publically criticism the role, it becomes harder to dismiss.
We don't know which heroes will be released next, but the timing on Auriel seems perfect. She addresses nearly all of the concerns the community has been in uproar about, most notable the cornering of support heroes into the role of mere heal bots with limite utility outside of cleanse.
Auriel isn't like that. Her trait encourages an active presence in combat, her primary heal requires aiming, both of her heroics have potential for big team fight changing plays (with Crystal Aegis being a sleeper hit in usefulness) and her Detainment Strike opens up the potential for remarkable offensive turns.
If you don't have many support heroes because Assassins and Warriors are more your style, give Auriel a try. You won't be disapointed.
