BlizzCon has started! Read all the announcements related to Heroes of the Storm inside.
The moment is finally here, BlizzCon has officially started. For the coming two days, Anaheim will host all that makes Blizzard amazing. World of Warcraft, StarCraft, Diablo, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm and Overwatch will each enjoy their moments in the spotlight.
For us, the Heroes of the Storm announcements are of course the most relevant. We will be listing all major, and minor, announcements below.
- There will be a new gamemode, called the Arena. Randomly generated teams will battle it out. Each player will get to choose from 3 heroes. No restrictions on team compositions, the trailer showcases 5v5 Illidans only for instance. Very small battleground, slightly larger than try-out mode.
- First new hero, Greymane the Worgen. Will be able to transform from melee to ranged and vice versa.
- Lunara, the dryad as a second hero. Ranged and looks very mobile.
- Cho'gall, controlled by two players. Not for sale, or buyable with gold. For free for all ticket and virtual ticket holders, and a select few other players. You will be able to unlock him by playing with him in a game.

- Towers of Doom, the first new map. A new kind of objective. The map is not attackable by players, instead will be damaged by your forts after activating them through altars. When you destroy your enemy's forts, they will be rebuild under your control to increase the core damage.
