Following the first qualifier from Enter the Storm Cup #1 that took place on July 12th, the tournament administrators have received feedback from some of the teams that took part.
After the first qualifier for Enter the Storm Cup #3 ended, several team captains who competed approached Enter the Storm tournament organizers, proposing some changes to the rules regarding how a battleground is chosen for Game 1. After careful evalutation, the following changes are being made with regards to battleground selection in an attempt to more rounds more "interesting, dynamic, and balanced in general"
The change is as follows: instead of the battleground being selected by the team that didn't win the first hero pick random selection, both teams will take turns banning maps until only one map is left. The remaining map is played in Game 1. This change will make the games less dependent on the preference of just one team, giving both teams ample opportunity to remove their least desirable map from the pool.
