Alliance withdraws from DotaPit Season 4

It is now official that Alliance withdraws from the European qualifiers of DotaPit and they got replaced with Tornado.Rox in group A.

Although the EU group stage qualifiers for the LAN event of the fourth season of DotaPit have started on January 12th, Alliance didn’t have any game scheduled until the 21st of the month and their decision of dropping out will not impact the current group rankings.

Ironically enough, Alliance would have been playing their first series in the group versus Power Rangers if they would not give up their spot in the tournament.

There is no official statement coming from Alliance’s side for their decision but it’s fair to assume they want to focus on training for the upcoming Shanghai Major, which is a crucial event for their International six possible direct invite.

Tornado.Rox is the replacement for the Swedes and they will face PR today at 18:00 CET. Until now five game series have been played in the European qualifier groups of DotaPit and Team Empire is leading group A with four points accumulated after two series played.

In the meantime, the four directly invited teams to the LAN event have been made public:

United States Evil Geniuses
Europe OG
Europe Team Secret
Russia Virtus.Pro

CompLexity Gaming and MVP.Phoenix are the US and SEA qualified teams for the event and will be followed by the two winners from the European groups.

DotaPit Season 4 main event is set to take place in Split, Croatia March 19-20 with a $100,000 starting prize pool that can be increased via in-game ticket purchases. The ticket costs $2,49 and it comes with a treasure chest that holds a loading screen, one of the five hero sets created for this tournament or a very rare Rubick set.

If you missed the announcement of the early bird tickets for the live audience, there is still time to get one via adriaticket. There are three different ticket categories to choose from with the price ranging from $15 to $216 for a VIP pass.
