Astrogation has broken the streak of European winners of GosuCup EU and wiped Powder in the finals to win 3 HCT points.
It’s only normal for a European tournament to be dominated by Europeans. That’s always been the case with GosuCup EU, although the cups have had their fair share of Asian and Americas player signing up. Yet it was only last night that Ray “Astrogation” Zhou became the only non-EU player to win one of these cups.
What’s more impressive than winning a cup outside your regular time-zone is that Astrogation ploughed through seven rounds of matches without dropping a single game. That’s right, he logged a flawless 21-0, including what was expected to be a close grand final against SK Gaming’s own Harald “Powder” Gimre.
“I played Warrior, Druid and Warlock the entire tournament. Only in the finals match did I switch from Dragon Warrior to CThun Warrior and looking back on it I think it was a suboptimal choice,” writes Astrogation.
