Ragnaros, Lightlord Revealed!!

Ragnaros will return in Whispers of the old gods, ready to take a stand against his old masters.

April 1st comes early at Blizzard, or at at least that is what one might think when seeing the next card revealed from the upcoming expansion. But no, this card is real. The paladin legendary Ragnaros, Lightlord, has been revealed over at IGN. Having found the light, Ragnaros, Lightlord has the same stats as he had during his days as [card]Ragnaros the firelord[/card], but has the polar opposite effect of healing a random friendly target each turn rather than roasting a random enemy.

This card seems very potent. On the turn it is played you are likely to be healed for 8 on your hero, and on following turns the Lightlord will be able to attack and then have a decent chance of healing himself back to full afterwards. A good way to compare it would be to Lay on Hands, a card some paladin decks already use often for the healing alone. Now instead of drawing 3 cards you are given a 8/8 body that will potentially heal even more. This could potentially be used in a control paladin, seeing as Paladin is already one of the best users of N'Zoth, the Corruptor with Tirion and they have also plenty of other healing like the new [card]Forbidden healing[/card]. Time will tell if this strategy catches on.
