Kaldi joins Tempo Storm
The NA team keeps rapidly expanding and is up to a sizeable roster already.
Since June, Tempo Storm has been on a signing spree. Where previously there was just a roster of three people, including captain Andrey “Reynad” Yanyuk, George “Hyped” Maganzini and Petar “Gaara” Stevanovic, now resides a much stronger line-up of players.
The first of the new wave of T/S members were Chinese player Haiyun “Eloise” Tang and Arena expert Johnnie “Ratsmah” Lee. The team thus expanded on both the constructed and arena streaming fronts but they were not going to stop the growth. Just two weeks ago, veteran deckbuilder and ladder player David “JustSaiyan” Shan was added, pushing the roster to six players.
Today, these players got a new team-mate. Jökull "Kaldi" Jóhannsson, previously of Fnatic, will don the white and blue of Tempo Storm and reinforce their competitive line-up.
Coming from a chess and professional StarCraft 2 background, Kaldi is one of the brightest prospects in Hearthstone. The Icelander is currently ranked top 50 in the world and top 20 in Europe according to the GosuRankings and despite missing a major championship holds multiple high finishes in local tournaments. Known as an analytical mind, Kaldi has been seen casting and providing insight for major tournaments like the Gfinity circuit.
With his departure also comes the closure of Fnatic’s Hearthstone division. The long-standing organization initially ventured into Hearthstone last July, signing DreamHack Cinderella story Bertil “Frezzar” Fall and later adding Kaldi and Axel “Twixsen” Milveden in September. With Frezzar and Twixsen lacking results or being inactive, however, they had to part with the organization this May. Since then, Kaldi has been Fnatic’s only Hearthstone player.
Exclusive, in-depth interview with Kaldi will follow soon on GosuGamers.
