Savjz wins Angry Chicken Invitational. VODs and decklists inside
Finnish Hearthstone player Janne "Savjz" Mikkonen walked out $100 richer after a 4-2'ing apDrop in the finals of the Angry Chicken Invitational.
Broadcast on February 8th, the Angry Chicken Invitational gathered four of the best players on the Hearthstone scene: Savjz, Koyuki, apDrop and Kisstafer. The four player a short, Bo7 single elimination bracket for the first place prize of $100.
Known for his high placements on the constructed ladder and one of the best deckbuilders in the game, Savjz came into the tournament as the favorite and his semi-final match against Koyuki only confirmed that. Savjz rode his Rogue to beat the American 4-0, defeating his Druid, Warrior, Paladin and Warlock to move on to the grand final.
apDrop was already waiting for Savjz in the grand final and the two played a six-game series before the winner was decided. Games went set for set until Savjz's Druid scored two in a row to crown him champion, winning the last game against apDrop's control Warlock which produced three Molten Giants in a single turn.
The full rebroadcast, the bracket and the decklists can be seen below. Bear in mind the tournament was played before patch 4458, meaning cards like Sylvanas Windrunner, Novice Engineer, Charge and Dark Iron Dwarf have different texts than their current versions.
