The best Starcraft site presents you a new event, the first version of The Latin Emperor! Gosugamers took the initiative to choose 8 of the very best Latin players and invite them to a tournament where they can show the world their skill in our beloved Starcraft: Brood War, the best strategy game in the world.
We choose thesome of the very best gamers, but unfortunately some was not able to play. Here we have the players representing Latin America in The Latin Emperor! Here are some small profiles of the participating players.
Reason
Awesome Zerg, the Ronaldinho of BW. He came to the scene when he won a televised game in the WCG Finals when he played 
Silent_Control, a game watched by millions of gamers. He won the WCG of his country, after beating Odin[SomE] 4-0 in the final and a lot of people think that he is the best Latin American Starcraft gamer.

Alfredo Zegarra more known as El Papitoss, the Claudio Pizarro of SC. A spectacular Protoss known by his offensive playing style. People think of him as the best Latin American Protoss, winner of the last two WCG of Peru and 2nd of LatinCup and winner of a lot of tournaments. 
Knif
18 year old gamer, one of the best Latin Protosses , winner of WCG 2004 in Chile and top 32 in San Francisco, his style is offensive and he won the LatinCup of his Country and did good in many, many tournaments. 
sTrAtO
Francisco Rios, best known as PlaY.sTrAtO, is a surprise in Mexico because he has played only since December 2003, and he already is a player known in the world. By some he is considered the best Protoss in Mexico. He participated in many important tourneys like GGL, European tournaments. His last won tourney was hosted by GosuGamers.
iG.Fenix
Paolo Guerrero, he is a promising player from Latin America. He is only 13 years old and still managed to finish 2nd in WCG Peru. His macro Terran is impressive. He is much known in Peru as CartMan – the next gosu of his continent. We expect that he play his best in his first Latin event on GosuGamers and show his power. Stym
Jorge Hernandez aka Play.Stym is a player known in the world. It began when LG) was in the best moment with Stym as the leader. Stym is grandiose Zerg and Protoss player and he is one of the best players in Mexico or the best of the continent, 2nd at WCG Mexico 2005. He was eliminated at the round of 16 by 
ToT)Twisted( in WCG San Francisco. Master[SomE]
The Kaka of Brasil. Best toss player in Brazil actually, plays a technical game. Finished 2nd in WCG Brasil 2004 and went to San Francisco together with Hellghost who won, in 2005 he came on 3rd place in WCG Brasil. He has won many tourneys in Brazil as well as more international ones and he is one of the best non-Korean Protoss players. Smacker[CkG]
He is the Latin Michael Jackson, one of the best Terrans of Peru. He is characterised by his strange strategies and by his regular game too. He won many tournaments in Peru and is well known in Latin America. We expect him to do his best to show his value.Brackets
Brackets will look as the following for the first round.

The tournament will be played as double elimination, meaning there will be both a Winner bracket and a Loser bracket. In WB all matches will be best out of three, in LB they will be best out of 1. The grand final will be best out of 5.
The starting maps will be
1st round - Luna
2nd round - Forte
3rd round - Rush Hour
4th round (WB final)- IntoTheDarkness
Grand final - Nostalgia
For LB the maps will be the same as in WB. For example - Round 1 WB = Luna, round 1 LB = Luna. Round 2 WB = Forte, round 2 LB = Forte and so on.

Matches will start tomorrow Sunday 29th of January at 17:00 EST (5 PM Peru, 4 PM Mexico, 8 PM Brazil, 7 PM Chile). GosuBets will come up for the matches, so have your minerals ready!
