New CS:GO ranking and invite system introduced by Valve for 2023

The first tournament to use the new system will be BLAST Paris 2023.

Valve has officially introduced a new Regional Standings ranking system to track results across multiple events for better team invitation management for 2023. The new system's goal is to streamline invitations for “later qualification stages” in the future.

The publisher for CS:GO has recently released the official standings for the Americas, Europe and Asia using a calculation model that uses a team’s prize pool earnings, the strength of their opponents, and their head-to-head results against other teams. With this model, Heroic is at the top of Europe, Team Liquid heads the Americas and Lynn Vision is the top-rank team in Asia.

The new Regional Standings will be used to determine which teams to be invited for the closed qualifiers for the Regional Major Ranking (RMR) events to see which teams will head to the 2023 Majors. Officially, the first tournament to use this system will be the BLAST Paris Major in 2023.

Top teams from each Regional Standing will be invited for the closed qualifiers, and the standings will be updated up to the start of the open qualifiers. The open qualifiers will comprise teams that didn’t receive the invites for the closed qualifiers. As of publication, the Regional Standings comprises over 300 different teams.
