M4 World Championships: A new patch brings many changes

A new patch for MLBB has just been released, and this is most likely the patch which the M4 World Championships will be played on.

Earlier today a new patch for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang was released, and with it came a ton of changes, a hero revamp, and some brand-new items too. However, the main aspect of this patch is that it is a very high contender to be the one which we will see the M4 World Championships played on in just over 10 days. With that in mind, lets take a look at some of the most interesting aspects of this patch which could affect the teams heading into the tournament.

Hero adjustments

First and foremost, Moonton have released the rework for Hanabi, a one-of-a-kind Marksman which excels in big team fights around objectives. Alongside this rework, there has been a broader Marksman adjustment too – which could play directly into the hands of some of the M4 players who excel with those heroes. But, with that said, one of the most contested heroes in recent times, Wanwan, has received the nerf-hammer treatment, allowing her opponents to contend with her more easily than before.

Another extremely contested hero to get a nerd is Beatrix – who has seen a ton of play across the board. While she does get a big decrease in damage output, her first skill was buffed a small amount to counteract this, but it remains to be seen if she will have as much of an impact at M4. Other heroes to get some adjustments are Brody, Kimmy, Claude, Popol and Kupa, and quite a few others too.

Battlefield Adjustments

Within the Land of Dawn, a hero’s build is key to ensure victory, and as such, there have also been adjustments made to items – including the addition of a new item. Swift Crossbow enters the field, with a cost of 1000, offering extra adaptive damage per basic attack and a stacking attack speed increase per attack. There are also quite a few changes to other items, such as buffs for Clock of Destiny, Lightning Truncheon, Brute Force Breastplate and many more.

M4 Event

With this patch we also finally get our hands on the M4 Pass, which includes a massive number of great rewards, including the amazing Light Chaser skin for Beatrix – which we will definitely see in action come the M4 World Championships.

All-in-all, the latest patch shapes up extremely well as a contender to be played at M4. While there are likely to be some changes and tweaks in the coming days, we will hopefully see some new marksman and different picks in the upcoming event. M4 begins on January 1st, 2023, with its Group Stage, before January 7th will see the teams head into the dreaded Knockout Stage as we countdown to the event in Jakarta, Indonesia.
